Key Responsibilities for a Global Sourcing Manager


The Global Sourcing Manager performs the following responsibilities:

  • Contract Negotiation & Management: The manager leads contract negotiations with global suppliers to secure favorable terms, reduce risk, and establish strong service-level agreements (SLAs). Furthermore, this role manages CARE’s global supply portfolio, ensuring cost-efficiency and compliance.
  • Sourcing Strategy: This role drives cost optimization through data-driven procurement strategies and value analysis. As a result, it oversees the bidding process and monitors performance against key metrics.
  • Relationship Management: The manager serves as a strategic partner to internal teams, aligning sourcing solutions with their needs. Similarly, this person maintains robust relationships with strategic vendors to enhance efficiency and negotiate better pricing.
  • Process Improvement: The manager designs tools and training materials for procurement professionals across country offices. In essence, this role promotes global best practices and builds organizational procurement capacity.

 

Qualifications for an International Procurement Job


  • Education: Candidates must hold a university degree in Business, Finance, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience: Candidates need a strong background in category management at a global or regional level. Additionally, candidates should have experience with international trade regulations, ideally within the humanitarian or INGO sector.
  • Skills: Candidates need deep knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation. Candidates must be fluent in English, while proficiency in French, Arabic, or Spanish is highly preferred.
